Kaslo is a scenic hamlet nestled on the shores of Kootenay Lake, between the Selkirk and Purcell Mountain ranges.Kaslo has the distinction of being called BC's Prettiest Town and the Switzerland of the Americas.

Recreation and Culture

Kaslo is an active community with easily accessible walks and hikes.  Many of its outdoor activities centre on Kootenay Lake while nearby Provincial Parks offer both pristine and rugged wilderness and family-friendly recreation.

Popular attractions in Kaslo include the Ainsworth Hot Springs, and the well-known Kaslo Jazz Festival held every August.

In winter, Kaslo is a gateway to alpine, cat and cross-country skiing, skating, snowmobiling and ice fishing.

Getting Here

Kaslo is located in the West Kootenay region at the junction of Highway 31 and Highway 31A on the western shore of Kootenay Lake, 67 kms northeast of Nelson.
